Version 4.8.3
The wait is over: Landform Shadows are now in Sunlitt!
You can now see shadows cast by mountains, hills, and terrain inside Explore Mode — for any date, time, and location in the world. Sunlitt will even alert you if the sun is currently hidden behind a landform when viewing any spot, both in Explore and Monolitt modes.
This new feature, currently in beta, marks another big step for your favorite sun-tracking companion — adding a new level of immersion and realism. Plan photoshoots, hikes, and outdoor adventures ahead of time, even in remote places, with a clearer sense of sunlight and shade.
Also new in this update:
- “Sun behind landform” warning can be turned off in Settings
- Option to show/hide summer and winter solstice paths in Monolitt Mode
- Moon Phase added in info view
- Double Tap gesture support added on Apple Watch
- Major performance and memory usage improvements across the app
- Fixed issues with favorite pins and visuals when using the Satellite map style
- Background app activity now reduced to zero
- UI updates and refinements
- Minor bug fixes

This is literally the most beautifully designed app on the App Store.
I’ve used a few of these sun location apps in the past but this one is not only the best it’s a joy to use because of how gorgeous the design is and the fun way you interact with the light.
Amazingly Well Built App
Applications of this quality are rare on App Store. It does what is meant seamlessly. I strongly recommend it. The 3D maps are very useful and take away any guessing work you might have to do with other apps in this category.
