Description

TotK Travel Guide is a companion app for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. You can use it while playing the game to keep track of your progress, mark interesting locations on the map, and make notes. It can also help you find all kinds of materials in Hyrule, such as fruit, fish, and ore, and it's a quick reference guide for all the Armor sets in the game.

The app provides a spoiler-free experience: by default, all locations and regions are hidden. As you make progress in the game, you can make them visible in the app as well. This means you can explore Hyrule and use this app without being spoiled by seeing everything the game has to offer from the get-go. Of course, if that's actually what you're looking for, that's an option as well.

At the center of the app you'll find a map of all levels of Hyrule. You find markers for Shrines, Towers, Villages, Korok Seeds, Lightroots, Quests, Treasure Chests, Minibosses, and many more interesting locations. And you can also add your own custom pins to the map.

You can easily add notes to any location and pins on the map, and you can also make Quick Notes while you are playing the game. The game has an easy list that shows you all notes you have created. And keeping track of todo's is also easy with the Tasks feature that you'll find in the app.

TotK Travel Guide is a native app that puts a great interface front and center. The UI is very smooth and will be immediately recognizable for anyone familiar with iOS. The app is fully integrated with the system: your data is synced with iCloud, offers a dark mode and homescreen widgets, and the app even has support for advanced system features such as the Shortcuts app. You can change the language of all locations on the map to any of the languages supported by the game, including Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.

TotK Travel Guide is built with love by a Zelda fan just like you. You can unlock all features of the app and support future development with a single, one-time in app purchase. The app does not have any subscriptions or ads.

This is a third-party app and not affiliated with Nintendo Co. Ltd.

What’s New

Version 2025.1.4

Hey there! This update of TotK Travel Guide brings two exciting new features, just in time for when you might want to dive back into TotK, or even a certain other game... Here's what's new in this update:

# BotW Map
The BotW map has been added to the app. Yes, all info and data about BotW can now be found in this app too. You can seamlessly switch between the two maps and keep track of your progress in both games. You'll also be able to create a separate set of notes, tasks, and pins for BotW.

# Quests
The app now also lists all the quests you can find in the game, including the main quests, side quests, and side adventures. Easily keep track of your progress and figure out where you need to go next.

- 2025.1.1: Add a few more location categories for the BotW map
- 2025.1.2: Add materials and enemies for the BotW map
- 2025.1.2: Fixed an issue that could cause visible map regions to reset when switching between TotK and BotW
- 2025.1.3: Added Gloom Spawn locations for TotK
- 2025.1.3: Added an indicator for BotW DLC locations, and added an option to hide these locations
- 2025.1.3: You can now filter the tasks in the widget for just a single map (TotK or BotW)
- 2025.1.3: The app's Shortcuts actions now all include an option to specify the map you want to perform the action on
- 2025.1.3: Added option to switch maps using the app's URL scheme
- 2025.1.4: Fixes an issue that prevented TotK Side Adventures and Side Quests from showing

This is a massive update, effectively doubling the content in the app, and I hope you'll like it! If you enjoy the app and want to support its development, please consider leaving a review or unlocking TotK Travel Guide +. Thank you so much!

A great start

UPDATE: The developer added a lot more to the map and added the option to hide completed stuff, so it’s pretty much perfect now! Thank you!

This companion app is very well designed and overall a great start. I like that it’s a one-time purchase rather than a monthly subscription (I have no problem paying for subscriptions, but it doesn’t feel like the right pricing model for an app like this), so that’s already an edge over the competition. There are a few things that I think are keeping this from being a true 5 star experience, and they’re also keeping me from actually purchasing the full app: 1. I agree with another reviewer that the app needs some kind of visual indicator right on the map that shows you’ve marked a place as discovered. 2. I’d take this further and say that the app should let you filter by that discovered status; completionists will want an at-a-glance view of the things they’ve yet to find. 3. I also agree that the list of things on the map should be expanded: stuff like armor, special weapons, special items, and bosses should all be there, and much of that data already exists. Overall, though, this is a well designed start. Looking forward to seeing the app expanded and even just those first two things would get me to pay!

Thank you so much for your feedback! I'll keep expanding the app, this version is just the beginning!

Exactly what I have been looking for!

I don’t know if I’m just not looking right but it is truly mind boggling how hard I had to look for a map that was based around keeping things hidden UNTIL you discover them for yourself!! The rest are all checklists! Add to that I desperately wanted a map where I could put down pins with more than just seven icons in one whole color. Nintendo, please, just five color options that’s all I need!

What I’m trying to say is that I was on the verge of giving up. This is everything I wanted it to be. The fact that the upgraded version is just a one time payment? Yes, thank you. Please keep doing what you’re doing.

Edit: the only thing I would love to see added is the full catalog of monsters and materials treated the same way the other points of interest are. I want to use the map to keep track of monsters and plants so I know where to go if I need to farm some resource like boko guts. I want to be able to save the locations but also selectively turn off the visibility for each one. However I recognize that this would be a huge amount of work. As it is now I can just do that with custom pins but it would be nice to have an official way. Thank you for continuing to update!!

Wonderful Guides, Wonderful Developer

When I first started playing ToTK the first thing I did was look for a guide from Jeffery, seeing how far both the animal crossing new horizons guide and this ToTK guide has come in the last few years is a testament to the skill and dedication that goes into building them and I love getting to watch the guide evolve along the way! The direct responses to feedback and watching features added from popular requests make this a must have! I think my only requests would be adding the Bubblfrogs to the map or the compendiums, but not having them won’t keep me from looking forward to ticking off locations, items, and watching the completion meter for shrines inch closer to 100%!
